Askeladden is a tour guide service with coaches in Hønefoss, 50 km northwest of Oslo. We work in conjunction with two other major carriers to accommodate all kind of coaches from 10 to 75 seats. We own today 7 buses, with 11, 14, 23, 34 and 50 seats.

We have a regular transport from Hønefoss to Oslo airport Gardermoen 8 times every day from 05.30 in the morning till the last return from airport 22.45 exept saturdays. Check the exact scedule under the link "Gardermobussen"

Rolf Lie (owner) of Askeladden has been in this business over 25 years and knows Norway and the rest of Europe very well to make your tour one of memorable experience.

We take groups around Norway and the rest of Scandinvia and at your request supply you with your own personal tour guide.

We have a garage and an office on our farm, Norderhov Prestegård, an old farm originally owned by the church. On the farm is a nice church from the 11th Century and a local museum.  The museum has a collection of 18 icons, and a resistance department from World War II.

Our forests are only a few steps from the farm and in the Gapahuk, (a small cottage) groups can stay to do different activities: Sports, fishing, canoe, bird watching in a bird reservoir and enjoy having a nice meal with everything close to nature.

We have for foreign groups, a 3-4 days trip around in our region (the south of Buskerud), with special interest on our old cultural history and industry and we call it:
A cultural adventure with cobalt, silver and glass in Vikingland.

Many of the Norwegian Vikings started from Ringerike and there is still a lot of things to see from that age. We have a mound at the farm Stein where a Viking ship is hidden they say. We also have a place called Veien, with 150 burial mounds and a longhouse rebuilt from the early Iron Age. Finished may this year.

At Hadeland glassverk  from 1762 we can see crystal being handmade, and you can watch inside a  big beehive.

The next stop is in Modum Blaafarveværk where they used to produce cobalt. In the 1830’s, they produced 80% of the world production and today it is a museum and an art-gallery. Nearby we have the homes of two famous Norwegian painters, Chr. Skredsvik and Theodor Kittilsen i Sigdal.

In Hokksund, we can visit another old Glasswork, Nøstetangen, and in Vestfossen the manor Fossesholm. 

In Kongsberg  we visit the silver mines and a museum for skiers. Kongsberg have had a lot of gold medal winners.

North of Ringerike are some beautiful mountains called Norefjell
